Pantone Color of the Year – Marsala

marsala (3)

marsala (2)

Like many others I was pumped for this years color, Marsala. It’s so versatile, you can wear it on eyes, lips, cheeks, lashes, brows, for a pop of color while still seeming neutral. Not only that, but it brings out sooo many eye colors. That’s why I was excited to pick up the Pantone-Sephora Marsala Metalshine Liquid Liner!

Packaging-

Honestly, I wasn’t super impressed. The color of the packaging was impressive, a nice gold/marsala tone. However, it was all very lightweight plastic and didn’t have a high end feel. This didn’t matter too much to me though because the product was really worth it.

Product-

AMA-ZING! It has a nice metal shine finish, and is richly pigmented. However, to make the liner go on more opaque, I did have to layer it about twice. The brush is just like a regular liquid liner brush, but it applies the product nicely.

Wear-

This liner lasted me a whole day, easily. It doesn’t smudge, flake off, or transfer whatsoever.

Definitely worth the buy. The other marsala makeup products are great as well. I’m excited to see all the new Marsala inspired things this year. I love the color and I’ve been waiting to see more of it around.

I give it a 9/10.

New Brush Cleaner Experiment!

cleaner

brushes

Picked up some Blendercleanser the other day to clean my beauty blenders, little did I know, they are amazing for brushes too!

Formula:

Gel Liquid

Doesn’t foam up a lot

Scent:

It’s described as “light lavender” which is really pleasant.

To me it sort of smells like Aveda products. It’s nice not to smell dishsoap while cleaning the brushes I guess.

Results:

At first I wasn’t sure this cleaner was really worth it. It doesn’t soap up like regular soaps, and to me that meant there was no way it was going to get my most pigmented and sticky products off the brushes. Well, I was WRONG. It’s amazing how easily and quickly the soap deteriorates the makeup and helps it slide off the brushes. It also does a nice job on the blenders. This is good because when using regular soap for the blenders it gets really soapy and takes forever to get out of the sponge.

I feel like this product cut my cleaning time down a lot. I wasn’t sitting there trying to get all of the foamy soap out of my brushes. The blendercleanser came out just as quickly as the makeup.

The one I purchased came with a pump on top, it worked nicely for the bigger brushes. With the smaller ones i had to scoop the soap out and my makeup was leaking all over the pump and kind of tainting the soap I could have used for other brushes. BUT it really wasn’t that bad. I definitely recommend buying this product.

I give this product a 9/10
